Mission

Mission Human rights in South Africa are not adequately met. This results in a lack of freedom of choice, unemployment, disempowerment and increased health issues. SALT believes that everybody should have equal opportunities and have their human rights met. SALT’s response to the challenges at hand is to provide opportunities for people to restore their dignity, establish food security, and have access to quality education.

Our team is focused and resolute people who are ruthless about positively impacting the communities we work in. Activities

Women - ISIDIMA - Our target clients are senior woman, vulnerable children, safety parents, woman with life threatening illnesses and vulnerable woman. Our casework varies between support to intervening where there is an at-risk child who is in need of health or social intervention. We have an assessment based interview with each client , followed by various interventions that are put into place.
Nutrition - SALT partners with local schools, clinics, feeding sites and community social workers to provide nutrition and growth opportunities.
Early Childhood Development - SALT partners with local early childhood development centres and pre-schools, assisting with educational support, classroom resources, daily meals and more. SALT assists teachers in achieving their National Diploma: Educare (N4 and N5 certificates)
After School Study Programme - FINISHING STRONG - SALT provides financial, motivational, and educational support to students who are striving to complete high school in the Dunoon/Milnerton area. Tutors provide subject support while mentors look after the students needs with regards to the correct stationery, uniforms , textbooks, access to internet and career guides.
