The mission of San Salvador is one of providing:
Special care, training, boarding and lodging, clothing, a safe environment, recreational facilities, and spiritual upliftment to the profoundly and mildly intellectually disabled people.
Guidance, training and rehabilitation to the profoundly disabled people.
Jobs and job coaching with the aim of preparing the mildly disabled and marginalised people to be productive in the open market/workplace but more importantly to build up a positively self-image, self-worth and self-reliance.
* To develop the learners and residents towards independence to each one’s maximum potential and to strive to look beyond themselves: in order to be productive in a non-sexist, non-racial, non-denominal democratic society.
* To work towards a transformed self-sustained skills development centre that will enable persons with disabilities and previously marginalised persons to achieve economic independence. It is imperative that the human resource development programmes are implemented and all other resources are utilized in order to achieve this vision.
