Mission

IAM works towards this vision through programs that support and empower the LGBTI community, parents, family and friends (PFF) and People living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) to stimulate dialogue in building welcoming, affirming and inclusive faith communities.

Vision

Inclusive & Affirming Ministries (IAM) has a vision of faith communities in Africa that are welcoming and affirming, where Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) people can participate fully and be strengthened in their spiritual, psychological and sexual identity as human beings.

Activities

• Advocacy and Awareness - Engage in 9 African countries to assist Human Rights organisations, Strategic partners and concerned individuals of faith to integrate sexuality with spirituality and actively engage in creating safe spaces for dialogue on sexual orientation.

• Strategic Networks and Partnerships - Build strategic alliances to work together to eradicate homophobia, transphobia, religious instigaged prejudice, violence, stigma and discrimination against LGBTI people, their families and friends and people living with HIV/AIDS

• Conversations - Dialogue as preferred method of conversations

• Courses & Seminars (short) - Varies trainings and diversity workshops to stimulate moving towards radical inclusion and the celebration of diversity within faith communities all over Africa

• Gender - Education on the intersection between gender, health, theology, sexuality, faith

• HIV/Aids - eradicate stigma and discrimation which is the main killer

• Organisational Development/Capacity Building of Organisations - assist partner organisations through developed theory of change called Wheel of Change in how to address faith communities around contentions issue of sexuality, sexual orientation etc.

• Prophetic - Work with all partners to engage the lived reality of sexual minories in Africa to assist the production of prophetic theology revelant for our times and context
